General Graphic Design, Identity & Branding
Identity & Branding for independent author Simon Harding. Being an author writing across multiple genres, I wanted to isolate and simplify the parent identity as much as possible, so as to remain applicable to whichever mood his title identities chose to follow.

I wanted a strong silhouette for the logo, so it could stand out on a noisy background. I also wanted to keep it simple and personal, more about him than the fact he's a 'writer', because truth be known, with technology going the way it's going, who knows what that's even going to mean in 5 years.

So, I had him hand write his name multiple times, and I formed a median between them. His favourite colour was orange, simple enough, so in lack of any background imagery, an orange gradient becomes the base.
Book Series Trailer & Motioncover
I also created motion covers, and a video trailer for Simon's romantic fiction 'Tide Series'. I did not design the original book covers. They were designed by Ally Mosher from 'Indiemosh', who sent me her .psds to work with. For the trailer, apart from stock photography & footage, all work, effects, & music are mine.
'ULTIMATE LIFE MAP' cover & assets
Client work; a cover design for an ebook, companion workbook, and accompanying wall chart.
I wanted to depict the idea of achieving limitless potential through the reader's progression (journey?) through the book.

Queensland Poetry Festival
I had an assignment back in uni to hypothetically brand that year's Queensland Poetry Festival.
Being a community event, I had the idea to have local poets submit work, the top ten of which would have videos made to visualise the poem. The poems as well would be written all around the city, like on sidewalks and walls as temporary graffiti. Each would feature an accompanying QR code that would link to that poet's profile on the festival's site.
Each of the submitted poems I also conceptualised could have a video made for them, which could also be accessed by the QR code. I wanted to make a sample video, and this was always one of my favourite poems, so I found a youtube of someone reading it, found some footage I loved, and made this as a proof of concept.

I also wrote a palindrome to act as a call to action for community involvement. The concept was to have people call upon either of their extremes of emotion and unite in the middle to... I dunno, rebel or something. The palindrome was to be placed upon the footpath outside the door of the festival location to act as wayfinding, leading people's attention through the doors and into the festival.
I was hoping to get several better shots of the location, but I had this dude trolling me, wandering repeatedly into the frame and standing there acting like he was using his phone and was unaware. I'd move one place and he'd wander there, move again and he'd follow again. It was obvious what he was doing, but I wasn't giving him the satisfaction of acknowledgment. So I baited him just over to my right shoulder there, then swung back, took the shot, and walked. I could only get this one.
